Tremayne Dorsey, 44, was convicted of murder and multiple other violent charges following an incident in Beverly’s apartment in the area of Fairland on Nov. 30, 2021.

Specifically, Dorsey was found guilty of:

  • First-degree murder;
  • Felony murder;
  • Home invasion;
  • Two counts of first-degree assault;
  • Three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney's Office, on the night of Beverly's murder, Dorsey forced his way into an apartment in the 12300 block of Treetop Drive and gunned him down while his family members were inside the unit with them.

Dorsey also assaulted two women in the apartment in front of an infant, according to reports. He was able to elude arrest for several weeks before he was ultimately tracked down by police investigators in Virginia.

Investigators noted that Dorsey knew his victims, and had previously stayed at the same home with them before a falling out.

Dorsey is scheduled to be sentenced in March, when he will face life in prison.
